桃毛 Boksunga Teol (복숭아 털)

Domo is the fine fuzz on the skin of a peach. It was scraped off the ripe fruit and collected: the same down people rub away when washing peaches today. The Donguibogam carries it in the fruit section as one of several sub-entries under peach.

  1. 性平. 主下血瘕積聚.

    Its nature is neutral. It chiefly brings down hyeolga (血瘕, blood conglomeration) and jeokchwi (積聚, accumulations and gatherings).

    HomiclubDomo is the fine down on the skin of a peach, the fuzz rubbed off under running water before eating. Fuzzy varieties such as white and yellow peaches have it; nectarines do not.

  2. 殺惡鬼邪氣, 療崩中, 破癖氣.

    It kills malign spirits and evil qi, heals bungjung (崩中, flooding uterine bleeding), and breaks byeokgi (癖氣, lodged aggregation qi).

  3. 桃實上毛, 刮取用之. 《本草》

    The down on the peach fruit is scraped off, gathered, and used. 《Boncho (本草)》
