등자피 (당(등자피))

  1. 性溫一云煖, 味苦辛, 無毒.

    Its nature is warm, also said to be hot, with a bitter and pungent taste and no toxicity.

  2. 消食, 散腸胃中惡氣浮風.

    It aids digestion and disperses foul qi and floating wind lodged in the stomach and intestines.

  3. 宿酒未醒, 食之速醒.

    When a hangover has not yet cleared, eating it sobers one up quickly.

  4. 其形圓, 大於橘而香, 皮厚而皺.

    Its shape is round, larger and more fragrant than a tangerine, with a thick, wrinkled peel.

  5. 八月熟, 生南方, 盖橘之類也. 《本草》

    It ripens in the eighth lunar month and grows in southern regions, being broadly of the tangerine family. From the Bencao.

  6. 今之橙糖, 卽此也. 《俗方》

    What is now called orange sugar preserve is precisely this. From the Sokbang.
