Geonsaenggang is ginger left to dry on its own with the skin still on. It is washed rhizome with nothing but the moisture gone, and Donguibogam kept it in an entry apart from geongang, the ginger dried over heat or steamed first.

乃留皮自乾者.
This is ginger left with its skin on and dried of itself.
HomiclubGeonsaenggang is the rhizome washed and then left in its skin to lose only its moisture. Because its preparation differs from geongang (乾薑), made with fire or steam, Donguibogam gives it a separate entry.
