桃符 Boksunganamu Bujeok (복숭아나무 부적)
Dobu is a peachwood plaque hung at the gate at New Year as a charm. The custom later became the chunryeon, the red paper couplets pasted beside a doorway. The Dongui Bogam files it among the fruits and passes on the old belief that the peach was a tree of the immortals.

It governs ghostly evils and bewitching spirits. Boil it and drink the juice; this is the peachwood plank charm set above the door.
HomiclubDobu was a peachwood plank hung at the gate in the first month. It later gave way to couplets written on red paper and pasted beside the door, a custom still kept at Lunar New Year in Chinese-speaking regions.
