  1. 性平一云寒, 味甘, 無毒.

    Its nature is neutral, though some sources say cold. The taste is sweet and it is non-toxic.

  2. 止煩渴, 養神益精, 令人肥健.

    It relieves restlessness and thirst, nourishes the spirit, replenishes essence, and makes one robust and healthy.

  3. 治酒後熱毒, 利大小腸.

    It treats the heat-toxin that arises after drinking alcohol and helps the large and small intestines move smoothly.

  4. 療女子崩中帶下, 小兒暴熱.

    It treats abnormal uterine bleeding and leucorrhea in women, and sudden high fevers in young children.

  5. 一名水英, 生水中.

    It is also called 'suyeong' (water-flower) and grows in water.

  6. 葉似芎藭, 花白色而無實, 根亦白色.

    The leaves resemble those of Chuanxiong (Ligusticum), the flowers are white but bear no fruit, and the roots are also white.

  7. 可作虀葅及煮食, 幷得生啖, 亦佳.

    It can be made into pickles or salted preserves, eaten boiled, or even chewed raw — all are excellent.

  8. 亦治五種黃疸. 《本草》

    It also treats all five types of jaundice. (From the Bencao)

  9. 渣芹

    Jageun — the regrown miniature dropwort sprouting from the cut stump.

  10. 養精神, 保血脉, 嗜飮食.

    It nourishes the spirit, preserves the blood vessels, and restores appetite for food and drink.

  11. 主女子赤白帶.

    It mainly treats red and white leucorrhea in women.

  12. 疑是春夏刈食後, 再生嫩芹也. 《俗方》

    It is thought to refer to the tender dropwort that grows back after being cut and eaten in spring and summer. (From the Sokbang)
