蘑菰 Shiitake

Mago is the mushroom that fruits on oak, the same pyogo as in the crop guide. It reaches markets today from logs and sawdust blocks, and travels the world under its Japanese name, shiitake. The Dongui Bogam lists it in the vegetables section under the Korean name pyogo and calls its scent and flavor excellent.

  1. 性平, 味甘, 無毒.

    Its nature is neutral, its taste is sweet, and it is non-toxic.
