子 Bulgeun Jeopsikkot Ssi (붉은 접시꽃 씨)
Red hollyhock seed comes from the biennial mallow-family plant, forming where the flowers have faded. In the Dongui Bogam it appears as a subsidiary entry under red hollyhock (Hongchokgyu) in the Vegetables section (菜部); the original text records no method of preparation. Each seed is a flat, kidney-shaped piece with a grayish-brown color. Today, these seeds are simply what gardeners collect and save to grow the next year's hollyhocks.
