Mokgeun is the bark and flower of the rose of Sharon. The shrub opens a fresh bloom every morning through the summer and is Korea's national flower; the Donguibogam entered it in the wood section under its plain Korean name, mugunghwa. The original says it could be gathered in any season.

性平, 無毒. 止腸風瀉血, 及痢後渴.
Its nature is neutral and it is non-toxic. It stops the bleeding of jangpung (腸風, intestinal wind) and the thirst that follows dysentery.
HomiclubMokgeun is the mugunghwa, the rose of Sharon, a deciduous shrub of the mallow family. What this passage handles is the stem bark, and the flower follows as a separate entry.
