葈耳 Dotgomari (돋고마리)

1. 性微寒, 味苦辛, 有小毒. 主風頭寒痛, 風濕周痺, 四肢拘攣痛, 惡肉死肌.

   Its nature is slightly cold, its taste bitter and pungent, and it carries slight toxicity. It chiefly addresses cold headache from wind, numbness throughout the body from wind-damp, cramping and painful limbs, and rank or dead flesh.

   HomiclubSii is the cocklebur, an annual of the aster family. Common along roadsides and waste ground, its burs are covered with hooked spines that fasten onto clothing and animal fur.

2. 治一切風, 塡骨髓, 煖腰膝. 治瘰癧疥癬瘙痒.

   It treats every kind of wind, fills the marrow, and warms the waist and knees. It treats naryeok (瘰癧, scrofula), scabies, ringworm, and itching.

3. &卽蒼耳也. 一名喝起草, 處處皆有.

   It is changi (蒼耳). It is also called galgicho (喝起草), and it is found everywhere.

4. 實名羊負來, 昔中國無此, 從羊毛中粘綴, 遂至中國, 故以爲名.

   The fruit is called yangburae (羊負來, "borne in by sheep"); in olden days China had none of it, and it came stuck in sheep's wool until it at last reached China, whence the name.

5. 五月五日, 七月七日採莖葉, 九月九日採實, 陰乾. 《本草》

   Gather the stems and leaves on the fifth day of the fifth month and the seventh day of the seventh month, gather the fruit on the ninth day of the ninth month, and dry them in the shade. 《Boncho (本草)》
