性微寒一云平, 味苦辛, 無毒.
Its nature is slightly cold (some say neutral), the taste is bitter and pungent, and it carries no toxicity.

主風頭痛, 腦鳴, 淚出.
It addresses wind-induced headaches, ringing inside the head, and spontaneous tearing of the eyes.

明目堅齒, 利九竅, 長髭髮.
It brightens the eyes, strengthens the teeth, opens the nine orifices, and promotes the growth of beard and hair.

治濕痺拘攣, 去白蟲長蟲.
It treats dampness-related numbness and cramping contractures, and expels parasites such as white worms and long worms.

蔓生, 莖高四五尺.
It grows in a vining manner, with stems reaching about four to five chi in height.

對節生枝, 葉如杏葉.
Branches emerge in opposing pairs at each node, and the leaves resemble those of the apricot tree.

至秋結實, 如梧子許而輕虛.
In autumn it bears fruit roughly the size of paulownia seeds, light and hollow in feel.
