主冷痺, 腰脚軟弱.
It treats cold-induced numbness and weakness in the lower back and legs.

起陽, 殺牙齒蟲痛, 及腸中三蟲, 惡蟲毒.
It restores yang vitality, kills the worms that cause toothache, and clears the three intestinal parasites along with venomous insect toxins.

療腸風痔疾, 去虛冷, 療水氣.
It heals intestinal bleeding and hemorrhoids, dispels deficiency-cold, and resolves water retention.

在處有之.
It grows everywhere and is readily available.

功用與吳茱萸同, 少爲劣爾.
Its effects are similar to those of Evodia (Ousuyu), though slightly weaker.

顆粒大, 經久色黃黑, 乃是食茱萸.
The fruit with larger grains that turn yellowish-black over time is Siksuyu.

顆粒緊小, 經久色靑綠, 卽是吳茱萸也. 《本草》
Conversely, the one with small tight grains that turn bluish-green over time is Evodia, as recorded in Bencao.

Bencao also notes that the one with thin skin that splits open is Siksuyu, useful for identification.
