苧根 모시뿌리 (저근)

  1. 性寒一云平, 味甘, 無毒.

    Its nature is cold, though some say neutral. The taste is sweet and it is non-toxic.

  2. 主小兒赤丹毒腫, 婦人漏胎下血, 産前後心熱煩悶.

    It treats red erysipelas and swollen sores in children, miscarriage bleeding in pregnant women, and the feverish chest discomfort that arises before and after childbirth.

  3. 除五淋, 療天行熱疾, 大渴大狂, 罯毒箭, 蛇蟲咬. 《本草》

    It dispels the five forms of stranguria, cures epidemic febrile diseases, severe thirst and mania, and is applied to wounds from poisoned arrows or bites of snakes and insects. From the Bencao.

  4. 卽今績布之苧根也.

    This is the root of the very ramie plant whose fibers are woven into cloth today.

  5. 補陰, 行滯血. 《丹心》

    It tonifies yin and moves stagnant blood. From the Danxin.

  6. 漬苧汁

    The juice obtained by steeping ramie root in water.

  7. 主消渴熱淋. 水漬飮. 《本草》

    It chiefly treats wasting-thirst and febrile stranguria. Steep the root in water and drink it. From the Bencao.
