鶴蝨 여우오줌풀 (학슬)

  1. 性平一云凉, 味苦, 有小毒.

    Its nature is neutral, though some say cooling. The taste is bitter, and it carries a slight toxicity.

  2. 殺五藏蟲及蛔蟲,

    It kills parasites lodged in the five viscera as well as roundworms, and has long been used as a deworming remedy.

  3. 止瘧,

    It halts malarial fevers marked by alternating chills and heat.

  4. 幷付惡瘡.

    It is also applied externally to treat stubborn malignant sores.

  5. 苗葉皺似紫蘇.

    The shoots and leaves are wrinkled, resembling those of perilla.

  6. 七月開黃白花, 八月結實, 子極細.

    It blooms with yellowish-white flowers in the seventh month and bears fruit in the eighth, with seeds that are exceedingly fine.

  7. 採無時, 合莖葉用之. 《本草》

    It may be gathered at any time, and the stem and leaves are used together. So records the Bencao.
