鳳仙花 봉선화 (봉선화)

1. 治杖瘡.

   It treats wounds from beatings — the kind of bruised, broken skin left by a heavy blow.

2. 連根葉, 搗塗之.

   Pound the whole plant — root and leaves together — and apply it to the wound as a poultice.

3. 一名金鳳花.

   It is also called geumbonghwa, the golden phoenix flower, named for petals said to resemble a phoenix in flight.

4. 《醫鑑》

   This passage is cited from the Yi Jian, a Ming-dynasty medical compendium compiled by Gong Xin.
