Chuksamil is the seed cluster better known as sain. It resembles white cardamom but darker, and was toasted over a low flame for fragrance, rubbed free of husk, and the kernels crushed. The text marks it 【唐】, its tag for goods brought in from China.

性溫, 味辛, 無毒. 治一切氣, 心腹痛, 宿食不消, 赤白泄痢. 溫煖脾胃, 止胎痛, 治霍亂.
Its nature is warm, its taste pungent, and it is non-toxic. It treats all qi disorders, pain in the chest and abdomen, undigested food lodged within, and red and white diarrhoea and dysentery. It warms the spleen and stomach, stops pain during pregnancy, and treats cholera-like disorder.
HomiclubChuksamil is the seed cluster inside the fruit of a ginger-family plant, better known in herb markets today by its other name, sain (砂仁). Strip the husk and the seeds appear bound in three distinct clumps.

形似白豆蔲, 微黑色, 狀似益智. 七八月採. 《本草》
Its form resembles baekdugu (白豆蔲, round cardamom), its colour is slightly black, and its shape resembles ikji (益智). It is gathered in the seventh and eighth months. 《Boncho (本草)》

與白豆蔲爲使則入肺, 與人參ㆍ益智爲使則入脾, 與黃柏ㆍ茯苓爲使則入腎, 與赤白石脂爲使則入大小腸. 《湯液》
Paired with baekdugu as courier it enters the lung; paired with insam (人參, ginseng) and ikji it enters the spleen; paired with hwangbaek (黃柏) and bongnyeong (茯苓) it enters the kidney; paired with red and white seokji (石脂) it enters the large and small intestines. 《Tangaek (湯液)》

又名砂仁, 入手足太陰陽明ㆍ足少陰經. 慢火炒令香, 挼去皮, 取仁搗碎用. 《入門》
It is also called sain (砂仁) and enters the hand and foot taeeum and yangmyeong channels and the foot soeum channel. Parch it over a slow fire until fragrant, rub off the husk, take the kernels and crush them for use. 《Immun (入門)》
