茅根 띠뿌리 (모근)

  1. 性寒一云凉, 味甘, 無毒.

    Its nature is cold, though some say cool. The taste is sweet and it is non-toxic.

  2. 除瘀血血閉寒熱, 利小便, 下五淋,

    It dispels stagnant blood and the alternating chills and fever caused by blocked menses, promotes urination, and treats the five types of stranguria.

  3. 除客熱, 止消渴及吐衄血.

    It clears invading heat, relieves wasting-thirst, and stops vomiting of blood and nosebleeds.

  4. 卽白茅根. 處處有之.

    This is the root of the white cogon grass, commonly found everywhere.

  5. 六月採根, 暴乾. 《本草》

    The root is dug in the sixth lunar month and dried in the sun. 《Bencao》

  6. The flower.

  7. 主吐衄血, 及灸瘡金瘡, 止血幷痛. 《本草》

    It treats vomiting of blood, nosebleeds, moxa burns and knife wounds, stopping both bleeding and pain. 《Bencao》

  8. 茅鍼

    Maochim, the young shoot of the cogon grass.

  9. 卽茅笋也.

    This refers to the tender shoot of the cogon grass, like a bamboo sprout.

  10. 主惡瘡腫未潰, 令破出膿汁. 《本草》

    It is used for malignant sores and swellings that have not yet burst, causing them to open and discharge pus. 《Bencao》
