根白皮 Osuyu Ppurikkeopjil (오수유 뿌리껍질)

1. 治喉痺咳逆, 止泄注, 療白癬, 殺三蟲.

   It addresses hubi (喉痺, throat blockage) and cough with rising qi, halts pouring diarrhoea, addresses baekseon (白癬, white ringworm), and kills the samchung (三蟲, three worms).

2. 根東南行者爲勝. 道家去三尸方用之. 《本草》

   A root running to the southeast is the better one. Taoists use it in their method for expelling the samsi (三尸, three corpse-worms). 《Boncho (本草)》

   HomiclubThe samsi were three worms believed to dwell inside the human body, and Taoist practice preserved its own methods for expelling them. Choosing a root by the direction it runs appears in exactly the same way in the mulberry root bark entry above.
