Baekdugu is the fruit of a ginger-family plant, a cardamom relative. It clusters like grapes, green when unripe and white when ripe, picked in the seventh month and hulled before use. Donguibogam lists it under the 【唐】 mark for goods imported through China.

性大溫, 味辛, 無毒. 主積冷, 止吐逆反胃, 消穀下氣.
Its nature is greatly warm, its taste pungent, and it is non-toxic. It governs accumulated cold, stops retching and stomach reflux, digests grain, and descends qi.
