Jamok is the wood of the kkujippong, a thorny mulberry-family tree, and it is the same kkujippong shown in the crop guide. The Donguibogam records its old Korean name as 'moeppong' and notes that a decoction of it dyes cloth yellow. The same passage goes on to the leaves of three kinds of bamboo.

性溫, 味甘, 無毒. 主風虛耳聾, 瘧疾.
Its nature is warm, its taste sweet, and it is non-toxic. It governs deafness from pungheo (風虛, wind deficiency) and hakjil (瘧疾, malarial disorder).
HomiclubJamok is the kkujippong, a thorny member of the mulberry family; its old Korean name mwoippong means mountain mulberry. Stiff thorns on the branches and round red fruit in autumn set it apart from the true mulberry at a glance.
