根皮 Jisil Ppurikkeopjil (지실 뿌리껍질)

Geunpi means root bark. It appears in the Trees section of Donguibogam as a part-entry attached to the tree listed just before it, a short passage concerning bark peeled from the underground root rather than from the trunk, leaf or fruit.

  1. 主五痔, 大便下血. 《本草》

    It chiefly treats the ochi (五痔, five kinds of piles) and blood passed with the stool. 《Boncho (本草)》
