百部根 Baekbugeun (백부근)
Baekbugeun is the root of stemona, a climbing vine. Dozens of swollen roots hang joined in one cluster, much like taro; the cores were taken out and the rest washed in liquor and parched. Dongui Bogam marks it 【唐】, an item brought in from China.

性微溫, 味甘, 無毒一云有小毒. 治肺熱, 咳嗽上氣. 主潤益肺, 療傳尸骨蒸勞.
Its nature is slightly warm; its taste is sweet, and it is non-toxic, though one account says it has slight toxicity. It treats lung heat and cough with qi rising upward. It governs moistening and supplementing the lung, and treats jeonsi (傳尸, consumptive infection) and goljeungno (骨蒸勞, steaming-bone taxation).
HomiclubBaekbugeun is the root of the baekbu vine (Stemona). Several thick, spindle-shaped roots clustered at a single crown are the readiest way to recognise it.

It kills roundworms, tapeworms, and pinworms, and can also kill flies and midges.

Several dozen roots are joined together, forming a bunch like taro corms. Remove the core, wash it with wine, roast it, and use it. 《Boncho (本草)》
