1. 善救婦人胎前産後諸疾, 故命名益母.

   Because it well rescues the many ailments of women before and after childbirth, it was named ikmo (益母, benefiting the mother).

   HomiclubThe character for "mother" in the name ikmocho comes from this passage. The plant still goes by that name today, and its stems and leaves, cut and dried in summer, are sold in bundles.

2. 求嗣調經, 無所不效, 故曰婦人仙藥. 《入門》

   For seeking offspring and regulating menstruation there is nothing in which it is not effective, and so it was called the immortals' medicine for women. 《Immun (入門)》
