蕤核 Yuhaek (유핵)

Yuhaek is the stone of a small rose-family shrub; the kernel cracked out of the hard shell is called yuin. The entry records the handling as well, hulling the kernel, grinding it to a paste, then pressing the oil out through paper. Donguibogam marked it with 唐, meaning it came as an import through China.

  1. 性微寒, 味甘溫, 無毒.

    Its nature is slightly cold, its taste sweet and warm, and it is non-toxic.

    HomiclubYuhaek is the hard stone in the fruit of a small tree of the rose family. The kernel that comes out when the shell is cracked has its own name, yuin (蕤仁).

  2. 主明目, 目赤痛傷淚出, 目腫眥爛. 《本草》

    It chiefly brightens the eyes, and is used for red, painful, injured eyes that run with tears, as well as swollen eyes with raw sores at the corners. 《Boncho (本草)》

  3. 去殼取仁, 湯泡去皮尖, 硏膏, 用紙壓去油用之. 《入門》

    Discard the shell and take the kernel; scald it in hot water to remove the skin and the pointed tip, grind it to a paste, and press it under paper to draw off the oil before use. 《Immun (入門)》
