蕪荑 느릅나무씨 (무이)

1. 性平, 味辛, 無毒.

   성평, 미신, 무독.

   Its nature is neutral, its taste pungent, and it has no toxicity. Being balanced, it is suitable for broad use.

2. 治腸風痔瘻,

   치장풍치루,

   It treats intestinal wind bleeding and anal fistulas, calming hemorrhage and suppurating tracts around the anus.

3. 惡瘡疥癬,

   악창개선,

   It heals malignant sores, scabies, and ringworm, applied to stubborn ulcers and itchy skin conditions.

4. 殺三蟲及寸白蟲.

   살삼충급촌백충.

   It kills the three worms and the tapeworm, serving as an anthelmintic that expels intestinal parasites, especially tapeworms.

5. 此山楡仁也.

   차산유인야.

   This is the kernel of the mountain elm, taken not from the common elm of the fields but from the wild mountain variety.

6. 氣膻者良.

   기전자량.

   Those with a rank, mutton-like odor are best, for that distinctive smell signaled the potency of the medicine.

7. 三月採實, 陰乾. 《本草》

   삼월채실, 음건. 《본초》

   Gather the fruit in the third month and dry it in the shade, since direct sunlight would dissipate its potency. 《Bencao》
