貫衆 회초밋불휘 (관중)

Original, read line by line 東醫寶鑑 · Tangaek — Decoctions vol. 3

1. 性微寒, 味苦, 有毒.

   Its nature is slightly cold, its taste bitter, and it carries toxicity, so it must be used with careful preparation and dosage.

2. 主諸毒, 殺三蟲, 去寸白蟲, 破癥瘕.

   It neutralizes various poisons, expels the three kinds of worms and tapeworms, and breaks up hardened abdominal masses, serving as a remedy for detoxification, deworming, and dispersing stagnation.

3. 處處有之.

   It grows commonly in many places, so it was once easy to find in the wild.

4. 根形色毛芒, 全似老鴟頭, 故呼爲草鴟頭.

   Because the shape, color, fuzz, and bristles of its root closely resemble the head of an old kite hawk, it was nicknamed grass-kite-head.

5. 一名黑狗脊.

   It is also called black dog-spine, after its resemblance to a black dog's backbone.

6. 三月採根, 曬乾. 《本草》

   In the third lunar month the roots are dug and dried in the sun for medicinal use, as recorded in the Bencao.
