䕡茹 여여 (여여)

  1. 性寒, 味辛酸, 有小毒.

    성한, 미신산, 유소독.

    Euphorbia ebracteolata is cold in nature, pungent and sour in taste, and slightly toxic, so it must be handled with care.

  2. 主蝕惡肉, 殺疥蟲, 排膿, 去惡血.

    주식악육, 살개충, 배농, 거악혈.

    It erodes putrid flesh, kills scabies mites, drains pus, and dispels stagnant blood, making it a remedy for festering skin ailments and blood stasis.

  3. 葉有汁, 根如蘿葍, 皮黃肉白.

    엽유즙, 근여나복, 피황육백.

    Its leaves contain a milky sap, the root resembles a radish, with yellow skin and white flesh, the white latex from broken stems being its hallmark.

  4. 五月採根, 陰乾. 黑頭者良. 《本草》

    오월채근, 음건. 흑두자량. 《본초》

    The root is gathered in the fifth lunar month and dried in the shade, those with blackened heads being prized as superior, according to the Bencao.
