釣藤 Jogudeung (조구등)
Jodeung is a woody vine with slender leaves and long stems, carrying at each node a spine curved like a fishhook, which is the source of its name. Today's herb trade calls it jogudeung. The Dongui Bogam marked it 【唐】, an import brought from China.

性寒一云平, 味苦一云甘, 無毒.
Its nature is cold, though one account calls it neutral; its taste is bitter, though one account calls it sweet, and it is non-toxic.
HomiclubJodeung is a woody vine of the madder family, sold in herb markets as jogudeung. At each node grows a hook curved like a fishhook, by which it climbs other trees, and the piece taken for medicine is the stem segment bearing those hooks.

主小兒十二驚癎, 及客忤, 胎風. 專治驚熱.
It chiefly governs the twelve kinds of gyeonggan (驚癎, fright epilepsy) in children, as well as gaego (客忤, offense by strange qi) and taepung (胎風, fetal wind). It treats gyeongyeol (驚熱, fright heat) above all.
