羔兒酒 Saekkiyang Sul (새끼양 술)

Goaju is a liquor brewed from the broth of a boiled lamb. Donguibogam's grain section listed meat-based liquors like this one alongside the grain liquors; the method has not survived in Korean brewing.

  1. 肥健人. 煮羔兒取汁, 釀酒也

    It makes a person plump and sturdy. A lamb is boiled, the broth taken, and liquor brewed with it.

    HomiclubGoa means a lamb. Like the deer-head liquor, it is brewed from an animal broth, and the practice did not carry over into Korean brewing.
