Chunmogyeop is the leaf of the chamjuknamu, the Chinese mahogany. It is the tree whose red spring shoots are dressed as a seasoned green or battered into crisps. The text handles the root bark alongside it under the alias gomokchang. The Donguibogam lists it in the tree section and states that it is poisonous.

味苦, 有毒. 主洗瘡疥風疽.
Its taste is bitter and it is toxic. It is chiefly used to wash sores, scabies, and pungjeo (風疽, wind ulcers).

The root bark, also called gomokchang, is warm in nature. It chiefly treats gamnik (疳䘌). It also stops diarrhea and binds the essence-qi. 《Boncho (本草)》
