蒲萄 포도 (보도)

  1. 性平, 味甘一云甘酸, 無毒.

    성평, 미감일운감산, 무독

    Its nature is neutral and the taste is sweet, sometimes described as sweet-sour, and it carries no toxicity.

  2. 主濕痺.

    주습비

    It chiefly treats damp-induced numbness, where moisture lingers in the body and makes the limbs heavy.

  3. 治淋, 通小便, 益氣强志, 令人肥健.

    치림, 통소변, 익기강지, 영인비건

    It resolves stranguria, eases urination, replenishes qi and steadies the will, helping the body grow plump and sturdy.

  4. 子有紫白二色.

    자유자백이색

    The berries come in two colours, purple and white.

  5. 紫者名馬乳, 白者名水晶, 又有圓者, 又有無核者.

    자자명마유, 백자명수정, 우유원자, 우유무핵자

    The purple kind is called 'mare's milk' for its elongated shape, the white kind 'crystal' for its clarity, and round varieties as well as seedless ones also exist.

  6. 七月八月熟, 北果之最珍者.

    칠월팔월숙, 북과지최진자

    It ripens in the seventh and eighth lunar months and is regarded as the most prized fruit of the northern regions.

  7. 暴收其實, 以治瘡疹不出, 甚效.

    폭수기실, 이치창진불출, 심효

    Sun-dried berries are remarkably effective when pox or measles fail to erupt to the surface.

  8. 多食, 昏人眼.

    다식, 혼인안

    Eating too much, however, dims the eyes, so moderation serves the body better.

  9. 取汁釀酒, 名曰蒲萄酒. 《本草》

    취즙양주, 명왈포도주. 《본초》

    Wine fermented from the pressed juice is called grape wine. 《Bencao》

  10. Now turning to the root.

  11. 煮汁飮, 止嘔噦.

    자즙음, 지구얼

    Boiling the root and drinking the broth quiets nausea and hiccups.

  12. 又主姙婦子上衝心, 卽下.

    우주임부자상충심, 즉하

    It also helps expectant mothers when the fetus presses upward against the heart, drawing it back down at once.

  13. 性能下走滲道. 《丹心》

    성능하주삼도. 《단심》

    By nature the root descends and opens the channels through which water seeps out. 《Danxi》

  14. 蘡薁 묀멀위

    영욱 묀멀위

    Yeong-uk, written 'moenmeolwi' in old Korean, is the name for what we now call the wild mountain grape.

  15. 卽山蒲萄也.

    즉산포도야

    In other words, it points to the grape that grows wild in the mountains.

  16. 實細而味酸, 亦堪作酒. 《丹心》

    실세이미산, 역감작주. 《단심》

    Its berries are small and tart, yet they too are fit for making wine. 《Danxi》
