  1. 治血痔, 瘻瘡.

    It treats bleeding haemorrhoids and nuchang (瘻瘡, fistulous sores).

    HomiclubThis entry refers to the root of the preceding item, the birthwort vine. Like its fruit, it belongs to a genus containing aristolochic acid and is no longer used as a drug.

  2. 形似木香, 小指大, 赤黃色.

    Its form resembles mokhyang (木香, costus root); it is the size of a little finger and reddish yellow.

  3. 名土靑木香, 又名獨行根.

    It is called tocheongmokhyang (土靑木香) and also dokhaenggeun (獨行根).

  4. 三月採根, 灸用. 《本草》

    Dig the root in the third month and use it after roasting. 《Boncho (本草)》
