性平, 味酸, 無毒.
성평, 미산, 무독.
Its nature is neutral, its taste sour, and it is non-toxic. This makes it a relatively gentle herb to work with.

主水穀血痢.
주수곡혈리.
It is used to treat dysentery in which undigested food passes with blood, known as sugok-hyeolli. Traditional physicians turned to this plant for chronic diarrhea and bloody bowel disorders.

生年久瓦屋上, 遠望如松,
생년구와옥상, 원망여송,
It grows on the tiled roofs of old houses, and from a distance it looks like a pine tree. Its densely packed leaves form little pine-needle shapes.

故一名瓦松.
고일명와송.
For this reason it is also called wasong, meaning pine-on-the-tiles. It is the same plant we today commonly call rock pine or houseleek.

육월칠월채, 일건. 《본초》
Harvest it in the sixth and seventh lunar months and dry it in the sun. Midsummer is when its medicinal power peaks, and this account comes from the Bencao.
