苘實 어저귀씨 (경실)

1. 性平, 味苦, 無毒.

   성평, 미고, 무독.

   Its nature is neutral, its taste bitter, and it carries no toxicity, making it easy to use across constitutions.

2. 主赤白冷熱痢.

   주적백냉열리.

   It treats dysentery of every kind—red or white, cold-induced or heat-induced—serving as a broad remedy for chronic intestinal trouble.

3. 破癰腫.

   파옹종.

   It disperses abscesses and swellings, breaking apart festering lumps on the skin.

4. 處處有之.

   처처유지.

   It grows everywhere, common enough that one never has to search far for it.

5. 葉似苧, 花黃, 實如蜀葵子, 黑色.

   엽사저, 화황, 실여촉규자, 흑색.

   Its leaves resemble ramie, the flowers are yellow, and the seeds look like those of the hollyhock but are black—these dark seeds being the part used as medicine.

6. 卽今人取以績布及打繩索者. 《本草》
