桃核仁 복숭아씨 (도핵인)

  1. 性平一云溫, 味苦甘, 無毒. 主瘀血血閉. 破癥瘕, 通月水, 止心痛, 殺三蟲.

    성평일운온, 미고감, 무독. 주어혈혈폐. 파징가, 통월수, 지심통, 살삼충.

    Neutral in nature (some say warm), bitter-sweet in taste, non-toxic. It dissolves stagnant blood and amenorrhea, breaks abdominal masses, restores menstruation, soothes chest pain, and expels parasites.

  2. 處處有之, 七月採核, 破之取仁, 陰乾. 《本草》

    처처유지, 칠월채핵, 파지취인, 음건. 《본초》

    Found everywhere. In the seventh lunar month gather the pits, crack them to take the kernels, and dry them in shade. (Bencao)

  3. 破滯血生新血, 逐瘀活血, 有功. 《醫鑑》

    파체혈생신혈, 축어활혈, 유공. 《의감》

    It excels at breaking stagnant blood to generate new blood, expelling stasis, and reviving circulation. (Uigam)

  4. 肝者血之海, 血受邪則肝氣燥. 經曰, 肝苦急, 急食甘以緩之. 桃仁味苦甘辛, 散血, 緩肝也. 《綱目》

    간자혈지해, 혈수사즉간기조. 경왈, 간고급, 급식감이완지. 도인미고감신, 산혈, 완간야. 《강목》

    The liver is the sea of blood; when blood is invaded by pathogens, liver qi dries out. The classic says: when the liver is tense, ease it with sweet flavor. Peach kernel, being bitter-sweet-pungent, disperses blood and relaxes the liver. (Gangmu)

  5. 入手足厥陰經, 湯浸, 去雙仁及皮尖, 硏如泥用. 《湯液》

    입수족궐음경, 탕침, 거쌍인급피첨, 연여니용. 《탕액》

    Enters the hand and foot Jueyin meridians. Soak in hot water, discard twin kernels and the skin and tip, then grind into a paste for use. (Tangaek)

  6. 桃花

  7. 性平, 味苦, 無毒. 破石淋, 利大小便, 下三蟲, 殺疰惡鬼, 令人好顔色.

    성평, 미고, 무독. 파석림, 이대소변, 하삼충, 살주악귀, 영인호안색.

    Neutral, bitter, non-toxic. It breaks urinary stones, eases bowel and urinary flow, expels parasites, dispels noxious spirits, and brightens the complexion.

  8. 桃花萼, 破積聚. 桃花落時, 以竹簽收取, 陰乾, 和麪作燒餠, 空心服, 大下積聚陳久之物. 《醫說》

    도화악, 파적취. 도화락시, 이죽첨수취, 음건, 화면작소병, 공심복, 대하적취진구지물. 《의설》

    The calyx breaks long-standing accumulations. When the blossoms fall, catch them with bamboo skewers, dry in shade, mix with flour into baked cakes, and take on an empty stomach to discharge old masses. (Uiseol)

  9. 三月三日, 採花陰乾, 勿用千葉花. 《本草》

    삼월삼일, 채화음건, 물용천엽화. 《본초》

    Gather the blossoms on the third day of the third month and dry them in shade; do not use the double-petal varieties. (Bencao)

  10. 桃梟

    Withered Peach Clinging to the Tree.

  11. 性微溫, 味苦. 主殺百鬼精物五毒不祥. 療中惡心腹痛, 破血. 又治中惡毒氣蠱疰.

    성미온, 미고. 주살백귀정물오독불상. 요중악심복통, 파혈. 우치중악독기고주.

    Slightly warm, bitter. It slays a hundred spirits and the five toxins, treats sudden seizures with chest-and-abdominal pain, breaks blood stasis, and cures venomous gu attacks.

  12. 一名桃奴. 是桃實已乾, 着木上, 經冬不落者. 名桃梟. 正月採之, 以中實者爲良. 一云, 十二月採.

    일명도노. 시도실이건, 착목상, 경동불락자. 명도효. 정월채지, 이중실자위량. 일운, 십이월채.

    Also called Donu. It refers to peach fruits that have dried and clung to the branch through winter without falling. Gather them in the first lunar month, preferring those with solid cores; some say to collect in the twelfth month.

  13. 一名鬼髑髏, 是千葉桃花結子, 在樹上不落乾者, 於十二月採得, 可爲神妙. 《本草》

    일명귀촉루, 시천엽도화결자, 재수상불락건자, 어십이월채득, 가위신묘. 《본초》

    It is also called Gwichongnu, the ghost-skull. These are fruits of double-petal blossoms that dried on the tree without falling; gathered in the twelfth month, they yield miraculous effects. (Bencao)

  14. 酒拌蒸, 以銅刀刮, 取肉, 焙乾用. 《入門》

    주반증, 이동도괄, 취육, 배건용. 《입문》

    Steam after mixing with wine, scrape the flesh with a copper knife, then dry over gentle heat for use. (Ipmun)

  15. 桃毛

    도모

    Peach Fuzz.

  16. 性平. 主下血瘕積聚. 殺惡鬼邪氣, 療崩中, 破癖氣.

    성평. 주하혈가적취. 살악귀사기, 요붕중, 파벽기.

    Neutral. It expels blood lumps and accumulations, drives off noxious airs, treats uterine bleeding, and breaks up flank stagnation.

  17. 桃實上毛, 刮取用之. 《本草》

    도실상모, 괄취용지. 《본초》

    Scrape off the fuzz from peach fruits and use it. (Bencao)

  18. 桃蠹

    도두

    Peach Tree Borer.

  19. 殺鬼, 辟邪氣不祥. 食桃樹蟲也. 《本草》

    살귀, 벽사기불상. 식도수충야. 《본초》

    It slays demons and wards off ill-omened airs. It is the worm that feeds on the peach tree. (Bencao)

  20. 莖白皮

    Inner Bark of the Peach Stem.

  21. 除邪鬼. 主中惡心腹痛. 《本草》

    제사귀. 주중악심복통. 《본초》

    It dispels evil spirits and treats sudden malign attacks with chest-and-abdominal pain. (Bencao)

  22. 桃葉

    도엽

    Peach Leaf.

  23. 除尸蟲, 出瘡中蟲. 治小兒中惡客忤. 《本草》

    제시충, 출창중충. 치소아중악객오. 《본초》

    It removes corpse worms, draws worms out of sores, and treats children's malign attacks and startle illnesses from strange airs. (Bencao)

  25. 下石淋, 破血, 主中惡疰忤. 《本草》

    하석림, 파혈, 주중악주오. 《본초》

    It discharges urinary stones, breaks blood stasis, and treats sudden malign and infectious attacks. (Bencao)

    Peach Fruit.

  27. 性熱, 味酸, 微毒. 益顔色. 多食令人發熱. 《本草》

    성열, 미산, 미독. 익안색. 다식영인발열. 《본초》

    Hot, sour, mildly toxic. It enhances complexion, but eating too much makes the body feverish. (Bencao)

  28. 急性子

    Geupseongja, the Small Red Unripe Peach Seed.

  29. 治小兒癖疾. 卽小紅桃子也. 《回春》

    치소아벽질. 즉소홍도자야. 《회춘》

    It cures children's flank accumulations and refers to small, red, unripe peach fruits. (Hoechun)

  30. 桃符

    도부

    The Peach-wood Talisman Hung Above the Door.

  31. 主鬼邪精魅. 煮汁服之, 是門上桃板符也. 桃者, 五木之精, 此仙木也. 《本草》

    주귀사정매. 자즙복지, 시문상도판부야. 도자, 오목지정, 차선목야. 《본초》

    It wards off demons, sprites, and possessions; boil it and drink the decoction. This refers to the peach-board charm hung above doorways. The peach tree is the essence of the Five Trees and is called the immortal tree. (Bencao)
