紫葳 능소화 (자위)

1. 性微寒, 味酸一云甘, 無毒.

   성미한, 미산일운감, 무독.

   Its nature is slightly cold and its taste is sour, though some say sweet. It has no toxicity.

2. 主婦人産乳餘疾, 崩中, 癥瘕, 血閉, 産後奔血不定, 及崩中, 帶下.

   주부인산유여질, 붕중, 징가, 혈폐, 산후분혈부정, 급붕중, 대하.

   It treats lingering ailments after childbirth and lactation, uterine bleeding, abdominal masses, amenorrhea, postpartum hemorrhage that will not settle, and leukorrhea. It was widely used for women's blood disorders.

3. 能養血安胎, 治酒㾴, 熱毒, 風刺, 利大小便.

   능양혈안태, 치주사, 열독, 풍자, 이대소변.

   It nourishes the blood to settle the fetus, treats alcoholic rosacea, heat toxins, and stabbing wind pains, and promotes urination and bowel movements. It is decidedly a remedy that clears inner stagnation.

4. 一名凌霄花, 在處有之.

   일명능소화, 재처유지.

   It is also called Neungsohwa and grows everywhere. This is the very orange flower we see today draping over walls and fences.

5. 初作藤蔓生依大木, 歲久延引至巓而有花, 其花黃赤色.

   초작등만생의대목, 세구연인지전이유화, 기화황적색.

   At first it grows as a vine clinging to large trees, and after many years it climbs to the top where it bears flowers of yellowish red. It is truly a late-summer bloom that needs years of growth to come into its glory.

6. 夏中乃盛, 採花乾用. 《本草》

   하중내성, 채화건용. 《본초》

   It flourishes in midsummer, and the flowers are gathered and dried for use. Recorded in the Bencao.

7. 凌霄花, 治血中痛之要藥也.

   능소화, 치혈중통지요약야.

   Neungsohwa is the essential medicine for treating pain arising within the blood. It was regarded as a remedy that goes straight to pain born of blood stagnation.

8. 且補陰甚捷. 《丹心》

   차보음심첩. 《단심》

   Moreover, it replenishes yin with remarkable swiftness. Recorded in the Danxin.

   경엽

   The stems and leaves.

10. 主痿蹶, 益氣, 健脚力. 《本草》

    주위궐, 익기, 건각력. 《본초》

    It treats weakness and collapse of the legs, boosts vital energy, and strengthens the legs. Recorded in the Bencao.

    The root.

12. 治熱風身痒, 風疹, 及瘀血帶下. 《本草》

    치열풍신양, 풍진, 급어혈대하. 《본초》

    It treats itching of the body from heat-wind, urticaria, and leukorrhea caused by blood stasis. Recorded in the Bencao.
